I’m an emerging English photographer, collector and experimenter living in Lithuania for the last 14 years. My current work focuses on the little-known final chapter in the story of the now almost entirely extinct population of native Litvaks (Lithuanian Jews) from the city of Kaunas, a once large and diverse community erased from the Lithuanian historical narrative by the violent and authoritarian ideologies of Nazi and Soviet occupation. Graduating with a Distinction on the MA programme in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication in December 2009, my background in unsentimental street photography filters through into my current work, an ongoing series of experimental and mostly outdoor projects exploring the relationships between place and identity within Kaunas' former Litvak population that mixes original and archive photography, found objects and performance art in a unique and at times contentious and troublesome manner. This website mostly features completed work and will receive a major redesign in the near future. For examples of my current experiments, I recommend you go and have a look at what I get up to on Facebook. Also please do go and have a look at the International Centre for Litvak Photography.
