Kosovo independence

On February 17, 2008 the ethnic Albanian majority of Kosovo declared independence from the Republic of Serbia. In Greece at the time and with nothing better to do that weekend I travelled to the capital, Pristina, to record the miscellaneous events of the day on my simple Nokia phone, from the celebrations of the ordinary people in the streets to groups of people huddled inside hotels bars watching the violent reactions to the event taking place in Belgrade to the arrival of the country's first Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi, for his first public appointment. The resulting photographs have been published in several places including the Lithuanian magazine Foto. Those who can read the language can download the article below.
